This rifle served as the basic weapon with the U.S. Army until 1936. It underwent several modifications during its service time.
Beginning with 1941, some of these rifles were redesigned into sniper rifles mounted with 5x and 8x scopes and called the Springfield М1903А3 and М1903А4. As such,
the rifle was used in service with the U.S. Army until the late 1950s. One of such rifles can been seen in Saving Private Ryan motion picture directed by Steven
Spielberg.
